Presidents Day 2012
Written By Savvy Auntie Staff Writers
Monday, February 20, is Presidents' Day and a wonderful opportunity to share a little American presidential history with our nieces and nephews. We have found three wonderful resources online to offer you ways to make the day more fun and educational.
Presidential Trivia
The White House has a list of fun facts your nieces and nephews should find interesting. For instance, you may know that the airplane the President flies in is call Air Force One, but did you know that the helicopter the President flies in is call Marine One? And while published a few years ago, we enjoyed the National Geographic take on presidential trivia too.
The Presidents
Again from The White House, a list of all the presidents in American history. It also includes a brief bio on each president.
How Do I Become President?
Finally, Kids.gov, a wonderful recourse, offers this poster entitled: How Do I Become President of the United States. It’s a great way to share the detailed process of becoming president which during this election year, has even more significance for your nieces and nephews.
