Do you live near a ferry boat? If you can sit outside or get a great view from the inside, taking a ferry ride can be a fun and inexpensive trip, especially for kids who love boats, trains and buses.

You may want to plan a special destination on the other side (ice cream?) instead of just turning around and going back. But then again, this time it’s all about the journey.
