Ear Piercing
Written By Savvy Auntie Staff Writers
Just about every little niece wants to pierce her ears. It’s a rite of passage for most girls. Some get their ears pierced before they are old enough to remember, and others wait longingly until a milestone birthday, like 10. With mom and dad’s permission, volunteer to take your niece to get her ears pierced.
Mom and dad may be comforted with the knowledge that you have selected a reputable location, so do your research. Ear piercing guns are generally recommended over needles (yuck!) and better locations will teach your niece how to take care of her newly pierced ears. Claire’s, for example, is known for its ear piercing – and has been offering the service for over 20 years, so it’s probably a good choice. They even have an “After Care” Calendar you can print out for your niece. Of course, your niece will need to follow the care instructions carefully to avoid infection, which means holding off on those new glittery earrings for about six weeks while the bullets stay in place. But, since Claire’s has dozens of fun earrings to choose from, you can keep your niece’s favorite pair on reserve until she is ready for them. Have fun, and be safe, Savvy Auntie!
Remember, we can't take responsibility for our recommendation to go to Claire's. It's your responsibility to do your research and make your own choices on ear piercing locations.
How was the experience for your niece?
