Road trips are a great idea! My 10 year old nephew told me last year that for his birthday he really wanted to go a Minnesota Vikings game. We had to wait 6 months, but in late August I picked him up on Friday after school and off we went! Friday nigh we stopped and ventured through his favorite Cabelas store, taking pictures with all the animals there. Saturday morning it was up early to spend some time in the hotel pool reminiscing about when he was little and all the funny things he did. Then off to the Mall of America to enjoy Nickleodeon Universe for the day before catching the train downtown for the game at the Metrodome. He got to play outside at the fan experience, see the Vikings win and stay up late! Oh and don't forget that he got a foam finger...his number one desired purchase! Sunday was more time at the pool before driving home and talking all the way back about his BEST DAY EVER! He was even excited by the fact that he went to a huge mall and only went to three stores! All in all it was a great weekend for both of us. He had fun planning the trip and we both had a ball laughing through the weekend. His sisters birthday is next month, and she's ordered up a trip for the Mall of America of her own. No Vikings game for her, but her brother has already been helping her look up Minneapolis to find other things to do.
