Children love the feeling of accomplishment, and ice skating is something even small kids can pick up quickly. So instead of staying indoors this winter, take the kids ice skating and teach them how to skate. And if the children are already taking lessons, let them show off their fancy skater skills to you.

Kids don't have skates? Many skating rinks have skate rentals, so if the kids don't have their own skates, it's not a problem.

Too cold out? Find an indoor rink.

Who knows? This activity may inspire the next Sarah Hughes, Sasha Cohen or Michelle Kwan. Or a future Stanley Cup winner. Just think about it... makes you want to get those skates on, doesn't it?!
