Textbook Wrappers
Written By Savvy Auntie Staff Writers
Back to school time for your nieces and nephews means they will be armed with newly borrowed textbooks soon. To help them keep their books in pristine condition throughout the year, host a textbook wrapping party and see who can come up with the most creative book covers!
What You’ll Need:
- Plenty of paper shopping bags, or brown craft paper
- Scissors, glue, tape
- Construction paper, markers, colored pencils
- Stickers, photos, magazines
What To Do:
-First, help them cover each new textbook with a paper shopping bag.
-Encourage them to think up a design theme for each class (i.e. animal photos for Biology, or a funky pattern of shapes cut from construction paper for Geometry).
-To speed up the process, have your nieces and nephews decorate one book cover while you volunteer to style the other.
-Make sure to keep an open discussion about what your nieces and nephews prefer.
-Have fun and encourage their personalities to shine through!
