I like to use 1/2 of an empty walnut shell to help make these simple little turtles. The kiddos enjoy the process of making them, and then get the fun of playing with them afterward. The body is just a simple turtle shape cut from felt. You could, of course, use any material you have on hand. The backs are glued to the body using ordinary school glue. We added movable eyes and a bit of glitter to give our turtles some personality. I'd love to see what other Savvy Aunties do with the idea!
