Homemade Valentines

Is that love in the air? With Valentines Day right around the corner, it is the perfect chance to spend some quality time with your little niece or nephew - and give them an opportunity to do something nice too!
Remember when you were little and you would pass out Valentines at school to all of your friends? Help your niece or nephew go the extra mile this year by making homemade Valentine's Day cookies with personalized Valentine's Day cards. You can use a simple sugar cookie recipe and use heart shaped cookie cutters to make your Valentine cookies. Then get some festive icings and or sprinkles to decorate with! (Decorating is the best part!)
For the cards, simply buy card stock or construction paper and cut out heart shapes. Then have your nieces and and nephews think of something great to write about each person in his/her class. Give them glitter and glue to make them as pretty and nice as they would like. Let them know that at this time of year, it's great to acknowledge the good there is in everyone. A little bit of love goes a long way!
To make these more decorative you can wrap the cookie in a nice pink or red decorative plastic wrap and tie the card on with a pretty ribbon looped through a hole punch in the card!
