If you and your nieces and nephews live nearby where you grew up, or if they came to your hometown for a visit, take them for a drive or a bike ride around the neighborhood.  Show them your house, your bedroom window…their parent’s window. Then, take them around to see your school. Maybe your favorite pizza shop is still there! Find your best friend's house. Your favorite toy store may even still be around.

Showing the kids a little family history makes them feel more connected. Kids love hearing about when you were a kid, so very long ago. Funny, because it feels like just yesterday you were a kid yourself.
