Visit Sick Kids

Take your nieces and nephews to visit sick kids in the hospital. Sure, at first it won’t seem like the most fun activity, but it may be the most meaningful and memorable activity you can plan. Of course, first make sure the kids aren’t sick with a virus. Then call your local children’s hospital and plan a visit. The children’s hospital should be able to guide you on which kids would appreciate the visit most, and which hours are the best to schedule.
Your nieces and nephews can volunteer to bring toys they no longer play with to give to the sick kids, or find small gifts at the local discount store. Kids can also can choose to bring books that they can read to the others and then leave behind. Even balloons left over from a birthday party might be well-received. Of course, the best “gift” might be a Get Well card the kids have made especially for the kids they visit.
Before you go, try to explain to the children why the kids in the hospital may not look well so they know what to expect. Of course, it won’t be long after your arrive that your nieces and nephews will be bringing smiles to the faces of the children you visit!
