Veterans Day

Veteran's Day is celebrated each year on November 11. The holiday honors all veterans of the US armed services, whether they served on active duty or in the reserves, in peacetime or in war.
The best way to honor our veterans is to support the organizations that support them even after they've left the service. Encourage your nieces and nephews to learn about these organizations and what they can do to help.
For active duty military, United Service Organizations (USO) provides entertainment, recreation and support services for service men and women and their families.
While all veterans charities will accept monetary donations, the Vietnam Veterans of America will accept donations of household goods, including clothing. In many states, they'll even pick it up from your doorstep, so consider having your nieces and nephews help you de-clutter and give the VVA a call.
Disabled American Veterans assists service men and women who have been injured during active service. The organization not only seeks to help veterans, but also their caregivers and families.
