If you would like to help teach your nieces and nephews the importance of a clean environment and sustainability, take them to help clean a local stream.

There may already be a local community group that has organized special days around stream cleaning. Look into that before you start as they'll be able to guide you well.

If there is no local stream cleaning effort, get garbage bags, garden gloves, some first aid, sun block, hats and water, and get to work! The kids will be impressed at what a difference they can make in just a few hours. And that's something they can take with them for a long time.
