Here's how a Savvy Auntie can help bring some love to Grandma and Grandpa or Great Auntie (or Great Great Auntie) with the help of the nieces and nephews. Volunteer to help plant seeds, trim bushes or water flowers to help make their garden grow!

Planting a garden is fun for the kids and a great help to an older woman or man who is unable to do so. Kids can choose flowers, plant seeds for their favorite vegetables, and keep returning to help that garden grow.

Of course, if there are no elder family members around, there might be a neighbor or family friend who could use a little sunshine from the kids.  Plus, we have a feeling there's lemonade and cookies in the deal. And if you visit weeks later, chances are the kids can taste the 'fruit' of their labor.
