Have you traveled with you niece or nephew? Would you want to?

I've been very fortunate to have been able to travel with my nephew, now 18, throughout his life. Our family has access to lodging in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. We have been there so many times from the time he was 5-14. The memories we have made our many. Inside jokes that drove other family members crazy for entire weekends, learning about the mountains, where the good restaurants are, where the tourist's AREN'T, explaining to him, when he was 5, that Dolly Parton wears wigs and his response "I noticed her hair was always nice." LOL!
He now mostly won't go down since he is older, says it's boring now. I hope one time before he goes to college he and I will go down again. I'll talk him to into it.
Another great time was in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan when he was only 2. We were at Lake Michigan and there was an enormous rock jutting out of the water. I asked him if he wanted to go out there and see that rock. His answer: "NO"! Well, I took him close to my chest and started walking out into the water, talking to him about other things, and made it out to the rock. I lifted him up and sat him on top of the rock and said "look where you are"! He was thrilled beyond comprehension. It's one of my greatest memories.
We've taken many short day trips that have been wonderful as well.
