Memories:
1. growing up in a predominantly african american neighborhood, i was often the only white girl around. it was however, expected that i would like the osmonds. (this was the late 60's-early 70's). i can remember distinctly telling my friends i did not like one bad apple by the osmonds but rather i'll be there by the jackson's. isn't that a funny thing to remember so well? it was so important at the time!
2. thriller video being shown for the 1st time on Mtv. we were all crammed into one guys room at the fraternity house, literally crammed. he was the only one with cable!! it was an exciting time, no one could believe how great that video was.
3. my nephew loved michael jackson when he was little. i think it's funny how many little kids love him even when he was way past his prime. anyway, we went to dick clark's american bandstand grill when he was 6 or so years old. they had a pic of michael jackson circa the jackson 5 on the wall. i said to him who is that? he said i don't know me: michael jackson him (in shock) nuh uh, you're Lying!!!: he remembers that happening, which is cool.
when jackson died, my nephew called me. we shared our memories of him and which was our favorite jackson song. mine: remember the time. his: bad.
and no, i can't moonwalk!! but i do a great beat it routine. if you ever saw it, you would ROTFLYAO!!!! but in my mind....tis perfect!
