Movies for younger kids?

I realized I have no idea what kid-friendly flicks are out right now... my family does a "Kids Movie Day" over Thanksgiving weekend, where we round them all up and take them all to a movie. Can any aunties out there clue me in as to what's out now and what's coming up?

We have multiples of 2 year old and 9 year old girls, 6 year old and 13 year old boys, plus a slew of grown-ups. (Its usually about 17 of us descending on a theater...!)

Disney has a new dog flick coming out Nov 21st called Bolt- looks like a great flick for younger kids!

Bolt was a fun movie. We had a lot of fun watching it. Kids seem to enjoy watching anything computer animated.

How about you aunties, what kind of movies do you like to watch? What is the last movie you have seen? I recently got to go to a screening of Alien Trespass. It stars Eric McCormack (from Will Grace). It's a fun movie that takes place in 1957. If you enjoyed those 1950's classic alien, sci-fi monster films be sure to look out for it on when it opens (April 3rd). You can watch the official trailer at alientrespass.com.

I saw that Bolt was coming out on DVD, I think I may get it and watch it with my niece at home (her mom vetoed seeing it in the theater.)

As for myself, I'll probably see Alien Trespass - I'm a fan of sci-fi movies (even the cheesy older ones). The last movie I saw in theaters was TAKEN, starring Liam Neeson. There are some movies that require a big screen (action movies, comic-book based flicks, certain romantic comedies, and anything with Jason Statham or Liam Neeson - am I dating myself?) Everything else is definitely rental territory in my house.

LOL. Taken was a good movie. Alien Trespass was a good trip back to the 50's. It comes out this Friday too, so you will be able to see for yourself. You might even be able to catch some pre-screenings in your area. If you check their site, it shows dates/location of them. Some of the pre-screenings are even free! :)

I had noticed that mostly kids love to watch Movies online http://www.moviesorb.com/ and tv shows like American Dad and Simpsons. My 7 year nephew watch Pokemon tv series.

I know it is really hard to filter kids-friendly movies as most them are full of crap. Here are some few suggestion from my niece, she loves watching them over and over.

Toy story 1,2, 3
Lion King
Finding Nemo
Sonic the hedgehog
