Inspire Kids for the New Year with a Letter!

New Year’s Eve is a time when we look back at the year that’s passed,
and wonder what’s in store for us in the coming year. Here’s a fun and
meaningful idea to share with your nieces and nephews for
years to come, even if you live far apart.
Inspire children and teens to dream, grow, develop and improve in the new year!
Get
pieces of paper or note cards. They don't have to be fancy; plain white
computer paper or notebook paper work. Have the kids write a letter to
themselves about the year ahead. They can write about anything: goals,
plans, dreams, fears – anything goes. Aunties, this may be inspiring for you, too. Write down your list as well. You can choose to keep the letters secret, or share them with each other.
When you are done, fold your notes and seal them in envelopes. Mark the envelopes with: "Do Not Open Until December 31!"
Store the envelopes somewhere safe, and
promise each other to open them next year on New Year’s Eve together, in person or over a voice or video call. And on new year's eve next year, see how well your year has turned out!
