We often share about all the ways aunthood is wonderful. But like anything, there are always ways it could be easier. Last week, we asked the Savvy Auntourage for one thing that would make their role as an aunt, easier.

Unsurprisingly, the most popular response was to live closer to nieces and nephews:

Sarah Darling Jones Living just a little closer to my niece so I could pop in and see her whenever I wanted to. Not that I live THAT far away but I can't just stop in on a whim if her parents want a date night.

Anne-Marie Butler If my gorgeous niece & nephew lived in the same country! Australia is a little too far for babysitting but I hope they know Auntie Re is by their side where ever they are X Claudia Dance & James xxxxx

Jennifer Haswell Definitely living closer. And because I'm so far I wish they knew how important words are. From either the kids or the parents. Saying I love you or appreciate me or telling me I'm an awesome aunt does amazing things for a bad day! Definitely don't hear things like that enough.

Others would be happy with better communication:

Hillary Anne Kotler If my sister realized how special the kids are to me; if they contacted me more often

Diane Day Knowing when they have events, games, performances, etc. They're so busy but I feel like I am forgotten.

Julie Wolfers If the kids learn sign language.

Some need more space...

Erica Natal To have a house for sleepovers! Hopefully this year!

Stephanie Bryn Pagé A larger car for when my 3rd one arrives in May!!!

Finances are an issue for some:

Maria Smith Money (and being able to tell the twins apart...)

Lisa Daubert Money. I can pretty much spend time with them whenever I want because they are all local. Also, my siblings are very good about letting me know when they have events that I can attend. Just wish I could treat them to more. smile emoticon

And on that note, sadly, some aunts feel mistreated by some family members.

Brianne Nickel If my nephews would learn not to cry when they leave my house. We always have so much fun they are always sad when they leave which makes me sad. But they are always happy to return home, and excited to countdown the days until I see them again
