Try These Autumn and Holiday Season Auntventures!

Spending "QualAuntie
Time" with our nieces and nephews is always a fun way to create
memories. With the holidays approaching, consider the gift of an
experience for special alone time with a niece or nephew, or all
together with multiple nieces and nephews. If you can't be there in person, gift them the tickets to enjoy an experience with siblings, cousins or friends. Whatever the case, now's the time to get organized!
Remember, the best experiences depend on the age and interests of your
nieces and nephews, but offering new types of Auntventures that help
them stretch their sense of adventure and knowledge will enable them to
feel accomplished and looking forward your next Auntventure together! Here are some ideas to get you started:
High Flying Fun
Find
a local indoor skydiving place where the nieces and nephews can see
what it’s like to fly safely from the ground. And speaking of flying
fun, younger children can frolic at the “bounce” places which are filled
with trampoline fun. And third, indoor rock climbing centers often have different level climbs depending on a child's age and ability. Warning: the kids may wear themselves out so have a plan for post-adventure nourishment, hydration, and maybe even a nap for the little ones.
Animals, Fish, and Dinosaur Bones
Depending
on their age and interests, tickets to the local zoo, aquarium,
amusement park, or science museum offer a sense of thrill and discovery,
making for a memorable outing with Auntie. Check websites for upcoming
special exhibitions and events and let the kids choose the ones they are
most excited by. By the way, some attractions offer “behind the scenes”
tours like zoos and museums that offer overnight sleepovers and
aquariums let visitors feed penguins.
The Stage
Tweens
and teens might like tickets to see a Broadway musical, or a local play, dance, or
other theatrical performances. For younger kids, “live” performances of
shows like Disney Junior Paw Patrol or Sesame Street would be great options.
Sports Events
For
sports-loving nieces and nephews, a professional or semi-professional
sports game where you can cheer for their teams together is likely to be
a memorable day. And if the kids have a favorite player, find out when
the team is holding meet-and-greet sessions!
Turn Up the Music
Music-loving
nieces and nephews would appreciate tickets to a concert for their
favorite artist. Consider an additional gift of a souvenir concert
T-shirt so they have something to remember it by. Depending on their
age, earphones will protect their hearing - and yours!
Hit the Highway
How
about a trip Auntventure? Plan a weekend jaunt to somewhere fun or a
longer trip while on school break. The kids can help plan this
Auntventure, charting all the sights they want to see and experience
with their Savvy Auntie! A trip can include a visit to a local,
family-friendly festival and there’s a festival for everything!
Learn Cool Stuff
Get
educational with special art, science, coding, and computer classes.
Check local continuing education and after-school programs. If you are
live near your nieces and nephews, consider it a project to help them
with throughout the length of the program.
And as an added bonus to most of these Auntventure ideas, combine your outing with lunch or dinner, and perhaps
even a visit to the gift shop. Just be sure to set a budget beforehand
so you don’t overspend, which can be easy to do.
Have fun on your Auntventures!
