The Savvy Auntie Spin on Gifts for Music Lovers
by Edina Sultanik
I love listening to music. Especially "New Wave" from the mid-80s, which was, in my book, hands-down the best era in music. My niece, on the other hand, is all about Ariana Grande and the latest pop stars. While we don’t see each other that often, we bond by sharing playlists of our favorite tunes. I love playing her songs from my teenage years, and she keeps me up to date with the top 40 charts. Every month or so, we take turns sending one another the perfect playlist for that specific time of year.
If your niece or nephew is a huge music fan, here are some hot gift ideas that will stop them in their tracks.
Blue Tooth Key Chain
The Savvy Auntie spin: Headphones and earbuds can sometimes be anti-social. This tiny Bluetooth speaker / keychain lets you listen to music anywhere with anyone. We love the matching monogrammable cellphone case and earbuds!
iPod Shuffle
The Savvy Auntie spin: Many younger kids don’t have their own iPod or phone, but still want to listen to music. Load up an iPod shuffle with some of your favorite tunes, and give the gift of music to your niece or nephew. You can send them playlists throughout the year to keep it updated, and create the bond of music that you two will always share.
Steezys
The Savvy Auntie spin: Until now, headphone wires have been pretty boring. So, I decided to do something about it. I created Steezys charms, with a friend of mine, so kids who love listening to music, or playing video games on their devices can decorate their wires. There are over 50 designs to choose from, so they can easily find some that express what they’re in to. They’re collectible, and tradeable, and make a major style statement. No more naked cords!
Super Cute Earbuds
The Savvy Auntie spin: Why use the generic earbuds that come with your device when you can have adorably delicious looking ones like these Gummy Bear buds?
Cellphone Dust Plug
The Savvy Auntie spin: With all the serious technology in every smart phone and tablet, its fun to add a little bit of cute to your device. These handmade phone jack charms are irresistible, and keep the dust out of your phone.
Wireless Speakers
The Savvy Auntie spin: When you want to crank the volume up, a great wireless speaker with sleek Japanese design like this one will make a style statement, as well as get the party started.
