Report: The Effects of Media on Kids and Body Image
By Jaime Herndon
Common Sense Media published a research report last month entitled: "Children, Teens, Media, and Body Image" which looks at what - and who - have an effect on a child's body image. The research includes groups that are often not included in similar studies, including children of color, boys, and LGBTQ kids. It also looks at both the positive and the negative effects of media on children.
Read the short report to learn about how to have a more positive influence on a niece's or nephew's body image - whether through the media they watch or engage in, or your direct influence on them as a role model.
