Scavenger Hunt

The holidays are fun for kids and adults alike. What better way to have fun than a treasure hunt? This treasure hunt can be done right at home. All you need are clues, hiding places, and a great prize.
The scavenger hunt can be played by teams or individuals. In order to start your Holiday Treasure Hunt, you first need to decide on what the prize will be: it could be candy, toys, money, or even your nieces and nephews holiday presents! Don’t tell the participants what the prize is; it keeps the game fun and exciting and builds suspense.
Write your clues on colored paper and hide the clues around the house (both inside and outside, if you like!) If you want to use your nieces’ and nephews’ holiday gifts as the prizes, assign a different colored clue for each of them to follow so they find the right gifts. Be creative with your hiding spots.
Start by giving the players the first clue, which could say:
The holidays are loads of fun, and holiday lights are bright. To continue the treasure hunt, go to the room next on the right.
The kids now know to go to the room next to it. You can create however many clues you want. Try to give each clue a holiday theme or a clever rhyme. Once you’ve placed all your clues the first team or kid to reach the prize gets to keep it! You can also play within a time frame: the team to find all of the clues within a specific time (20 minutes, for example), will win the prize.
Once the treasure hunt is over, congratulate the winner, award the prize, and start thinking of your clues for next year.
Happy Hunting!
