July 26, 2009 is Savvy Aunties Day!

That's right! After many of you have contacted us asking for a day to celebrate Aunt-hood, we decided to create one!

Since it's your day, we want YOU to tell us what it should consist of. What would YOU like to see happen on Savvy Aunties Day? 
We'll keep checking back through June 1st for your ideas to create an action plan based on the ideas  So if you want your idea to be part of the Savvy Aunties Day tradition from year one, keep those comments coming!

    Kids love to help cook and bake. I have a business called Rich Delights and most of my catering is cookie baking. I make cookie packs with 2 or 3 cookies in each and I think it would be fun to let the kids help bake and then help decorate their own special packs! They could put stickers on the packs, create special labels and even pick out cool ribbons to tie the packs up. They would have a sweet treat to take home and remember the day that they got to be a part of!

    This is a great idea, Auntie Melanie! I'd love to see some contests around Savvy Aunties Day - with prizes for spoiling our favorite kids and pampering ourselves! Maybe have one based on Aunthology entries, sharing our favorite stories about being an aunt, or memories of our own Savvy Aunties... I'll be planning to spend July 26 with Wudge and her new sister, Booley!

    Would love to do something as a group all go get ice cream together collective service project outing to the zoo playing at a local park taking photos writing stories about adventures love the idea of doing something collective

    Not being a mother-I would love Auntie day to have the feel of mother's day for we PANK's, in particular. A day to spend with my nieces and nephews to celebrate "aunt-hood" would be something I would love! Mom's have their day and I'd love to see PANK's have a similar day too. Maybe it could be a day for us all to make a concerted effort to reach out to any PANK's in our lives and say, "Happy Auntie Day!"
